Trainer Training for Fırtına Howitzer Personnel at BMC Facilities

Sakarya – The “X1100-5A4 Operator and Unit-Level Trainer Training” program was successfully completed between April 2–26, 2024, at the BMC facilities located in Arifiye, Sakarya—one of the key centers of the Turkish defense industry.

The training program was organized for the operators and maintenance personnel of the Fırtına howitzers, which are part of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) inventory and known for their operational effectiveness. Participants received comprehensive theoretical and practical training on the X1100-5A4 transmission system used in the Fırtına howitzers.

The main goal of the training was to enhance the technical competency of personnel working at both the user and maintenance levels and to equip them with the instructional skills needed to transfer this knowledge to other personnel within their units. Throughout the intensive training, participants gained advanced knowledge of system operations, fault detection, and troubleshooting.

Supported by the Ministry of National Defense and relevant unit commands, the training program is regarded as an important step toward the effective and sustainable use of domestic defense industry products by the Turkish Armed Forces.

Evaluations conducted at the end of the program reported that most participants were successful and qualified to receive trainer certificates.
