The factory has a research and development infrastructure to satisfy the demands of customers and market. Among the designed and developed systems: HDC3500 single speed axles for minibus and light vehicles, final drives for BTR 60  Personel Carriers and various gear systems, transfer boxes and power take off units for different applications take place. HST has an advanced engineering test center (ARGE) equipped with three fully computer controlled dynamometers and other various pieces of equipment where performance and life tests of all gearboxes, differentials and transfer cases are performed under load.

HST also has fully computer controlled test centers where automatic military cross drive transmissions up to 300 kW input power and automatic commercial transmissions up to 400 kW input power can be tested.
